iPhone and most Android camera apps recognize calendar event codes and offer to add them. Some older Android phones need a QR scanner app.
The time is saved as local time, so it shows the same clock time on the phone that scans it. That is right for in-person events.
The event is saved as one hour long. You can add an end time for anything longer.
